About the Author

Mario Poceski teaches Buddhist studies and Chinese religions at the Religion Department, University of Florida. He received a PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of California, Los Angeles, and he also spent two years as a researcher at Komazawa University, Japan. A specialist in is the history of Chinese Buddhism, his latest book is Ordinary Mind as the Way: The Hongzhou School and the Growth of Chan Buddhism (Oxford 2007). His publications also include two other books and a number of articles and chapters on various aspects of Buddhism.
